Nissan Extend British-Built Scrappage Scheme Offer
Nissan is extending its scrappage scheme offer despite the official government scheme closing. Nissann is offering a £2,000 trade-in allowance for any car over 7 years old against any new British built Nissan.
New Nissans eligible for the improved offer, which will commence on 1 April and run until 30 June 2010, include the Micra, Note, Qashqai or Qashqai+2, all of which are produced at Nissan’s Sunderland Plant.
Commenting on the extension of the Trade-in Scheme, Managing Director of Nissan GB, Paul Willcox said: “There’s no doubt the Government’s Scrappage Scheme along with our own Trade-in Scheme has given the UK automotive industry a boost. As Britain’s biggest car builder, we hope that by extending our scheme we can sustain the positive results seen to date and continue to support the British economy.”
Nissan GB Marketing Manager, John Parslow, added: “The Government’s Scrappage Scheme has had an invaluable impact on the UK automotive industry. ”
Nissan sold 15,840 vehicles on the Government scrappage scheme – 81% of which were built in Sunderland. 10,944 vehicles were also sold on Nissan’s British-built trade-in scheme which ran alongside the Government scheme.
Vehicles eligible for Nissan’s new British Built Trade-in Scheme must be 7 years old or older (registered on or before 31 August 2003) and must have been owned by their present keeper for a minimum of 12 months. Vehicles must have a current MOT certificate. Nissan British Built Trade-in Scheme terms and conditions apply.
